BE PROUD was a collection of handmade merit badges inspired by idioms that honoured our everyday triumphs and missteps.
This collection was started in 2007 as a tribute to a discarded Brownie sash found at a thrift store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The aim was to make badges that would be more near and dear and less disposable then those most familiarly earned. I illustrated, silkscreened, hand painted, hand embroidered, and machine stitched each badge together.
Below is the collection in its entirety. I stopped producing Be Proud badges in 2016 and retired the whole collection. While most are now gone forever, a few still remain in deadstock. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in purchasing.
